Classifying products

Who can use this feature?

Admin users / Super users and Users with Read/Write permissions for Category module

Available on Accounts with subscription to Category module

Classification is a vital process for categorizing products, enabling users to group and segregate product lists into specific categories. This categorization is valuable for downstream Ecommerce systems, where products are consumed and organized. The classification process can be performed on both the product listing page and the product detail page, providing users with flexibility and control over product categorization.

Classifying multiple products in bulk from Product listing page

1. Navigate to Product > Product list page

2. Select the products you wish to classify. Click the 'Action' button, and then choose 'Classify.' To classify variant products, enable the 'Include Variant' toggle button.

3. In the popup window, designate the channel and store where you want the product to be classified.

4. Expand the category tree and select the desired categories by clicking 'Apply.' You can classify products into multiple categories by using multi-select.

 
5. The chosen categories will be displayed as a breadcrumb trail on the product detail page, aiding in easy categorization identification.

Category list needs to be maintained against a channel for classifying the products

Classifying a product from Product detail page

1. Go to product detail page of a product, click on the Breadcrumb icon.

2. Expand the category tree and select the desired categories by clicking 'Apply.' You can classify products into multiple categories by using multi-select.

3. The chosen categories will be displayed as a Breadcrumb.

Products will be categorized based on the selected store.
