Creating and managing Taxonomy

Creating Taxonomy node

1. Click on the Settings  icon  


2. Click on the Taxonomy under Data modeling


3. Click on '+Add New Taxonomy' button


4. Add taxonomy details and click on the 'Apply' button


By default, you can create up to 10 taxonomy nodes. If you need to exceed this limit, you can utilize the upgrade option to increase the taxonomy node limit.


5. To create a subnode, click on the plus (green) icon. During node creation, you have the option to map all or selected attributes from the parent node to the subnode if desired.



You can create a hierarchy with a maximum of 7 nodes.


Creating Taxonomy node in Bulk
 
 

 1. Click on the 'Download template' link on the Taxonomy page
  


2. Update the Taxonomy details in the 'TaxonomyNode' sheet following the instructions provided on the 'Instructions_TaxonomyNode' sheet within the template.


3. Upload the file by clicking on the upload icon.


Sample template: 


The sheet name must be "TaxonomyNode" for the file to be successfully uploaded into PIMworks.
Taxonomy node is a mandatory field 


To create a subnode, use the ">" delimiter.


Deleting a Taxonomy node

1. You can delete the taxonomy one at a time by clicking on   icon.

When you delete a Taxonomy node, all the products associated with that node will also be deleted.


Furthermore, when you delete a parent node, all the child nodes added to it will be deleted along with the associated products.
