Configuring and managing units for conversion

Who can use this feature?

Super users and PIM Users with Read/Write permission for the Attribute module.

Available on Accounts with Subscription to Attribute module.

Units can be managed and configured for all subscribed channels and stores in PIMWorks, enabling unit conversions as needed.

1. Click on the Settings  icon 

2. Click on the Attributes under Data Modeling.

3. Click on the 'Config Units' hyperlink for an attribute to configure units.

Config Units option is available for attributes with a 'numeric' data type only.

4. Choose the appropriate unit to map to the attribute for each channel and save your selections.

Using 'Apply All' will apply the same unit as the master unit for all channels.

You can configure units under the same measurement category for each channel when mapping to an attribute.

The Master channel's Unit serves as a reference for Unit mapping in other channels.

5. Click on Unit tab to view 'PIM Unit Master.' 

6. In the 'PIM Unit Master,' a set of default units, along with measurements and logic, is available.

7. To create a custom unit, click the '+Add New Record' button. Provide the Unit name, symbol, and configure the unit logic for conversions.

Custom units will be categorized under 'Others Measurement.'

When a user uploads a file or adds a product and enriches the unit information in a different unit, the values will automatically be converted to the configured unit.

Unit conversion will not happen while fetching products from the channel and while creating products through PIMworks API
