Providing validity date to Categories

Who can use this feature?

Super users and PIM users with Read/Write permission for the Categories and Category Validity module.

Available on Accounts with subscription to Categories and Category Validity module


1. Click on the Settings  icon 

2. Click on the Categories under Data Modeling.

 

Adding validity for categories in bulk:

 

1. Choose 'Channel' and 'Store'

2. Download a sample template. Follow the instructions, fill in the data, and then import the final file with Validity date for category



3. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file or browse to upload it.

 

4. Upon successful file import, the Categories will be created.


Validity date should be in MM-DD-YYYY Format


Setting validity for category on-screen 


1. Choose Channel and Store

 

2. To create nodes at the meta level, click on the add icon next to 'Master.' A popup will appear where you can enter the category name, then click the 'Apply' button.

3. Enter the category name and provide validity from and to date and then click on 'Apply'.

4. Expired categories will still be displayed in the category list, but users cannot map them to products

When the validity end date is reached, any category mapped with products will be deleted.


After the validity end date, automatic category mapping will not occur.


Category validity information can be provided and updated through the API.


5. To modify the validity date of a category, go to the meta information pane, edit the date, and then click the 'Save' button.
