Creating and managing Category

Who can use this feature?

Super users and PIM users with Read/Write permission for the Categories module

Available on Accounts with subscription to Categories module

1. Click on the Settings  icon 

2. Click on the Categories under Data Modeling

A. Creating Categories in bulk

1. Choose the 'Channel' and 'Store'

2. Download a sample template. Follow the instructions, fill in the data, and then import the final file.

3. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file or browse to upload it.

4. Upon successful file import, the Categories will be created.

B. Creating Category and Sub Category

1. Choose 'Channel' and 'Store'

2. To create nodes at the meta level, click on the add icon next to 'Master.' A popup will appear where you can enter the category name, then click the 'Apply' button.

3. To create subcategories, click on the add icon next to the meta node. A popup will appear where you can input the sub-category name, then click 'Apply.'

4. You can create multiple subnodes beneath a meta node.

C. Editing Categories

You can edit categories by clicking on the respective node. Fill in the metadata details such as Category Image, Description, Search Word, and then click 'Save' to save the changes.

Category can also be renamed

D. Deleting Categories 

1. Click on the delete  icon near the category name

2. When you click on 'Delete,' you'll be presented with options to either unmap products from that node or reclassify products to another node.

        a. If you choose the 'Unmap products' option, products will be removed from that node, and the selected node will be deleted.

        b. If you select the 'Reclassify' option, products will be reassigned to the chosen node, and the original node will be deleted

E. Exporting Category information

1. Choose 'Channel' and 'Store'

2. Click on the download icon and export the category information  

Categories along with the meta information will be downloaded in your system
