Who can use this feature?

Super users and PIM Users with Group Products & Unique Identifier module.

Available on Accounts with subscription to Group Products & Unique Identifier module.

Grouping products will assist users in automatically identifying and grouping products that share the same secondary unique identifier. These grouped products will then be conveniently presented in a new tab labeled "Grouped Products."

Users have the flexibility to select the primary product from the list of grouped products. This product grouping process is triggered whenever a product with the same secondary unique identifier is added to the PIM system, whether through import, API integration, or manual on-screen creation

How to select secondary unique identifier?

1. Click the Settings   icon

2. Click on the 'Attributes' under 'Data Modelling'.

3. Go to Default tab in Attributes page.

4. In Unique Identifier section, choose the required attribute as a Secondary Unique Identifier.

You can enable/disable the secondary unique identifier

How to group products in Vendor import flow?

Scenario: Vendor inserts products with same secondary unique ID through File Validation with Import. User will navigate to Import module by clicking on the notification from Vendor. User clicks "Proceed to Review".

If the new product from the vendor shares the same unique identifier value as a product already present in PIM, an information icon will appear in the Action column to notify you.

1. Click the information icon in the summary page.

This will display a 'Grouped Product' tab on right panel.

2. Toggle the switch button next to the desired product that should serve as the Primary product in PIMworks, then click the 'Apply' button.

New product will be highlighted in grey.

3. Create the products in PIMworks by accepting the products.

These products will be automatically grouped together and will appear in the "Grouped Product" tab.

Update Primary option in Grouped Products

1. Navigate to the product detail page of a product which has grouped products.

2. Toggle the Primary selection from one product to another, then click the 'Save' button to apply the changes.

3. This updates the primary product selection on the other products which are grouped together.

Grouping products can also be done through Bulk Import, but cannot update the Primary selection.

When a product is grouped together, then those information can be extracted using API which has Grouped product with group identifier attribute.

Secondary Unique identifier cannot be changed with taxonomy. All taxonomy can have only one secondary identifier.
