Taxonomy level Access control configuration

Who can use this Feature?

Super users with write permission to User Management and Taxonomy level access control module. 

 Available on Accounts subscribed to User Management module



Super users with access to the User Management module and one who has read/write access to Taxonomy module, can provide taxonomy level access control at the role level. 


Taxonomy level restrictions can be set to all attribute values under given taxonomy, including default attribute values. 

 

To configure Taxonomy level restrictions, role creation is prerequisite. By default “Admin” and “Default” role will be available within PIMworks

 


How to configure Taxonomy Level Access Control

1. Click on Settings Description: Description: Settings Symbol - Free icons  icon   in the home page


2. Click on Taxonomy permissions under User Management.  

 

3. Super User can provide taxonomy access control by selecting the User role and users available for that role. 


By default all taxonomies will be in “Read and Write” mode


4. Permissions can be set as “Hide” or “Read”. Multiple taxonomies can be selected and on clicking group edit icon, permissions can be set in bulk for selected taxonomies. 

5. Once permissions are updated, click on “Save” to save the changes



6. You can also give permission in bulk, by selecting the taxonomy and clicking on bulk edit icon near Actions.


Apply button will be enabled when selecting multiple users.


User won’t be able to create a taxonomy with the same name as a taxonomy which is hidden.
User Won't be able to view/create a product in hidden taxonomy through API/Import as well. 
Users with Read access cannot edit a product in that taxonomy node.
Users with Read access cannot do health check mapping for any channel
